Job Description

Summary

This role involves leading and delivering technical training for teams handling identity and access management (IAM) in Colorado's state IT office, focusing on creating guides, assessing needs, and guiding others to follow security policies.

It's a remote position open only to current employees of the Governor's Office of Information Technology.

A good fit would be someone with strong IAM knowledge who enjoys teaching and staying current on training trends to help build team skills.

Are you passionate about driving excellence for the IAM teams through training others? Our team is seeking an experienced IAM Analyst Work Lead (Technical Trainer) who is adept at delivering innovative training strategies tailored for OIT's IAM Teams. You will be required to keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant materials, attending conferences, and taking relevant courses. Coordination and facilitation of training for those who work after 5pm may be required.

What you will do:
  • Assess training needs and develop plans to meet those needs by using good analytical and planning skills.
  • Develop and maintain user guides for training and development.
  • Respond to training issues and questions on processes and policies and identify areas of improvement and service gaps.
  • Be responsible for training customers and stakeholders on IAM technologies and services.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance in technical areas, to help develop skills and increase knowledge and support within IAM.
  • Train to ensure that access control is practiced according to security policies and according to documented procedures.

Qualifications

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While most salary offers are made within the posted range, occasionally an offer is made below or above the posted range based upon this salary analysis.

This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:

Minimum Qualifications:

5 years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position, to include experience in a professional, enterprise-level Identity & Access Management environment.

Candidates' previous experience should include:

Previous experience in account administration with a major email & collaboration platform, account administration with on premises and cloud directory services.

Demonstrated experience on key IAM concepts (Identity Lifecycle, Roles, workflow development, birthright access, privilege access etc.)
Federated Identity Management
SAML
LDAP
Access Management
User Life-cycle Management
Role and provisioning policy Management
Multi-Factor Authentication
OAuth


Substitutions:

Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.

If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Five (5) years of professional technical experience
  • Minimum of one year of professional Technical Training experience
  • Strong Written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong time management, organizational skills
  • Prior experience in adult, technical education or training preferred
  • Technical skills in the use of multiple forms of technology
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply that knowledge to training others


Conditions of Employment:

OIT candidates and employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work.

A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.

Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test.

This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.

This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position.

If this posting indicates “remote from anywhere in CO” in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location designated for the position is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado.


While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position. A reasonable timeframe for relocation will be established on an individual basis, while considering business needs, and determining a start date.
