Requirements

As an HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic, you will maintain the proper operation of refrigeration and retherm equipment to ensure the comfort and safety of residents at South Mountain Restoration Center.

You will work independently and determine the best methods to complete tasks efficiently. This will include:


  • Checking and servicing all refrigerators, freezers, milk coolers, and walk-in boxes containing food
  • Maintaining all circulating pumps related to refrigeration equipment
  • Installing new HVAC and refrigeration equipment
  • Adjusting heating and air conditioning systems throughout the facility
  • Recovering and recycling refrigerants in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations
  • Ordering stock necessary for completing regular preventative maintenance

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment; or
  • Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment.


Special Requirements:

  • You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.
  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
