Job Description

Summary

This role involves teaching HVAC courses at a community college, covering both hands-on practical training and classroom theory, while managing student progress and records.

It also includes developing lesson plans, recommending materials, and collaborating with college support services to help students succeed.

A good fit would be someone with real-world HVAC experience and an associate degree, ideally with some teaching background, who enjoys mentoring and staying active in the field.

Full Job Description

Teaching Responsibilities
1. Instruction including hands-on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development
2. Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis
3. Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress

Instructional Development
1. Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for the course
2. Work with other areas of the college such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success
3. Prepare reports in cooperation with Division Dean for input in the planning/reporting system and/or for submission to the accrediting body of the College or program

Professional Development
1. Attend relevant professional meetings
2. Represent the College positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at the local, state, and national levels

Requirements

Two-year associate degree and experience working in the HVAC field. Teaching experience is preferred.
