DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. The Human Resources Department is seeking a Human Resources Supervisor(s) to communicate organizational needs, oversee employees' performance, provide guidance, support, identify development needs, and manage the reciprocal relationship between staff and the organization so that each is successful.
Shared Services teams are responsible for the effective processing of personnel actions that result from employment status changes, such as promotions, transfers, terminations, salary increases, and leaves of absence.
Functions include but are not limited to:
- Successful candidate(s) will be very knowledgeable of City HR processes in order to teach and mentor others.
- Personnel Action Requests through HROne SuccessFactors – Employee Central (EC) system
- Oversee and or Administer Family Medical Leave, Organizational Management (OM), and Temporary Services
- Successful candidate(s) must be a constant source of help to ensure processes are completely correct and on time.
- Oversee and evaluate job performance as well as encourages the ongoing development of the human resources personnel.
- Successful candidates will analyze and review statistical reports, forecast trends or projections, as well as other types of data to solve problems.
- Manages the preparation and maintenance of various tracking reports
- Develop, interpret, and revise policies/procedures to enhance and improve operational efficiency along with complying with regulations.
- Conduct and participate in special projects as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONSThis position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions.
Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSRequires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
A related Master's degree may substitute for two years of the experience requirement. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSFour years of related professional personnel experience are required.
Related experience beyond four years may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. LICENSE REQUIREMENTSNone

Candidate(s) should have effective written and verbal communication skills. Possess ability to handle all information as confidential and able to multitask to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with internal/external customers and partners. Must also have the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment while anticipating needs and providing solutions. Should be able to think “outside the box” and make last-minute decisions.
