Summary

This job is for a human resources specialist in the U.S.

About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 807th Medical Deployment Support Command, 311 Field Hospital, 806 Hospital Center, 307 Medical Brigade located in Blacklick, Ohio.

This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1)interpreting and providing guidance on personnel policies and procedures; 2) processing personnel or pay actions; 3) utilizing clerical or administrative procedures to complete reports and/or correspondence; and 4) conducting staff inspections to ensure unit readiness.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Management.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as a Human Resources Specialist in an Army Reserve Battalion or equivalent size unit.
  • Conduct analysis of records for appropriate documentation and adherence to Army and United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) requirements.
  • Identify program deficiencies and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Review and process military personnel records and actions through various automated systems.
  • Monitor compliance with regulations, personnel readiness, and assists in review of unit status reports.
  • Provide guidance to supported units on administrative aspects of military personnel management programs.
  • Develop unit administrative actions, such as military correspondence, reports, military orders and personnel actions.
  • Prepare briefings to provide management concerning the status of military personnel actions and program requirements and for use in the decision making process.
