Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves reviewing and correcting military records for Navy and Marine Corps personnel who believe there are errors or injustices in areas like discharges, promotions, pay, and benefits.
You'll conduct research, analyze evidence, and prepare summaries to help resolve these cases as part of a board that advises on naval records.
It's a good fit for someone with experience in military HR or legal support who enjoys detailed investigative work and helping veterans.
You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY of Board for Correction of Naval Records (BCNR).
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in and knowledge of interpreting regulations, practices and policies regarding military records (discharges and retirements, performance and promotion evaluations, pay, benefits, awards, and disabilities) for veterans, reserve, and active-duty personnel.
Experience reviewing procedural requirements, determining adequacy of supporting materials, and administering resolution concerning errors and injustices of military records.
Experience writing formal proceedings.
