Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.
Progressive Human Resource (HR) experience which demonstrates an acquired knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of the work to be perform.
Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills to convey a wide variety of information to audiences, and the ability to perform office automation functions.
The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Demonstrated experience monitoring the implementation and operations of automated systems used to administer benefits programs. Experience managing more than one benefit program (i.e.
health insurance, life insurance, retirements, 401K and flexible spending accounts.) All answers to the Highly Qualifying Criteria must be demonstrated in your resume to get credit. Major Duties:
Serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits) for the US Army NAF Benefits Office.
Represents the Army NAF plans as subject matter expert providing guidance and consultation to agencies, employees, former employees, annuitants, survivors, and eligible family members regarding retirement, insurance, and health benefits.
Responsible for examining and adjudicating pensions and benefits.
Audits eligibility, creditable service and contribution records of employees to calculate benefits as authorized under the appropriate plan provisions.
Coordinates with other Army and Department of Defense agencies and military services as required to verify creditable military and civilian government service.
Process and authorizes claims for benefits, such as refunds, annuities, military service credit, retroactive service credit and service credit under Portability of Benefits statutes.
Adjudicates post-retirement, medical, 401k, life and portee Army benefits based on appropriate plan eligibility criteria for active and post-retirement benefits.
Participates in special projects related to the technical support of the division and the services rendered to the customers.
