This is an entry-level Human Resources Assistant role in the United States Space Force.

The job involves providing administrative support to the HR office, processing personnel actions, assisting with recruitment, and maintaining various HR records and systems.

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Human Resources Office, Schriever SFB, CO.

This position is Regular Full Time and include benefits Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security eligibility This is a developmental position having known promotion potential to the NF-0203-03 level.

Upon satisfactory completion of required training and experience, incumbent will be non-competitively promoted to an NF-03. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the pay band level of the position.

Experience that requires the applicant to acquire and apply knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of one or more areas of a personnel system is required.

Typing skills are required. Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel) is desirable. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Must possess skill in dealing with the public. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Assists in providing service to NAF activities by procedurally processing a full range of personnel actions such as appointments, position and pay changes, transfers, and separations.

Provides staffing and recruitment service to all NAF facilities; receives requests to fill vacant positions; prepares announcement for USAJobs; qualifies applicants and sends referral certificates to selecting supervisors.

Ensures all pre-employment requirements are met; initiates background checks, takes fingerprints; conducts orientation, etc.

Provides specific items of information to supervisors and employees regarding personnel matters including, but not limited to, pay actions, insurance, retirement, 401(k), unemployment compensation, workers' compensation, and awards, found in commonly used regulations, instructions, or manuals.

May in-process new employees, providing an overview of employee benefits and assisting in the completion of employment documents.

Maintains Official Personnel Folders, security folders, position control registers, office files, group insurance files, etc. Operates a computer remote terminal and word processing equipment.

Inputs personnel data into the automated NAF personnel data system to process a variety of personnel actions.
