Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting the recruitment of Marine Corps officers by handling paperwork, checking applicant backgrounds, and keeping records up to date using computer tools.

It's a clerical role in a military office, where you'll interact with potential recruits to make sure their applications are complete.

A good fit would be someone organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently with basic office software.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (MIL/OA) in the Marine Corps Recruiting Command of 4TH MARINE CORPS.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing clerical support such as administering background screening, reviewing documents, and/or processing applicant packages for commissioning programs; 2) Utilizing knowledge of Office 365 products (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams) as well as AdobePro; and 3) Working independently to maintain deadlines.

  • You will maintain close working relationships with civilian applicants to ensure candidate applications are complete and accurate.
  • You will apply current policies, regulations, reviews, and screening applications for commissioning eligibility.
  • You will manage the administration and functions associated with the Officer of commissioning programs and Officer Candidate Course and Platoon leaders Class.
  • You will enter applicant data and maintain applicant/candidate records in electronic form.
  • You will use strong interpersonal skills to affect positive relationships with potential applicants, current candidates, and personal contacts.
