This job involves helping manage military personnel records by reviewing documents, researching rules, and fixing errors related to service time, awards, pay, and discharges in the Navy.
You'll also handle customer questions and write official responses to inquiries from veterans or Congress.

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILLITARY) in the NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Analyzing and researching military personnel records, regulations, and policies identifying errors or discrepancies pertaining to active-duty service time, awards, benefits, military pay, and separations; 2) Determining eligibility requirements for the awarding of honorable discharge, campaign and service/unit awards, and foreign decorations; 3) Investigating and resolving customer inquiries concerning issues with personnel records, including identifying the source of the problem and taking corrective action; and 4) Drafting official correspondence in response to customer inquiries or other official matters, such as responding to Congressional and Department of Veteran Affairs inquiries.
