Key Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative support to senior specialists regarding the Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA) program, such as maintaining case files for worker's compensation claims, generating reports, and responding to inquiries.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will process all types of claims submitted by employees for compensation benefits under Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA).
  • You will counsel and assist claimants and supervisors concerning processing procedures.
  • You will investigate and develop facts concerning on-the-job injury/illness.
  • You will ensure claims are processed within specific timelines and according to regulatory requirements.
  • You will prepare and maintain records on all actions associated with each case file including the master compensation file of all forms and information pertaining to each compensable injury processed.
  • You will gather, review, consolidate, and in some instances, prepare required paperwork associated with a variety of actions, ranging in difficulty from routine to complex in nature.
  • You will type letters, reports, tabulated material, memoranda, etc., in either rough draft or final form.
