Summary

This job involves reviewing and classifying government positions to ensure they are properly graded and described, working for the U.S. Marine Corps in Georgia.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the Civilian Human Resources Office- Southeast of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Determine correct classification of positions to compare appropriate standards and reference material to prepare evaluations and designated duties; apply principles and concepts to select, interpret and apply standards to position decisions; and advises managers on processes by using various references to plan and implement new standards.

  • You will interpret and apply classification standards and guides to secure sound decisions on the classification of positions.
  • You will conduct on-site or telephonic audits, prepare written evaluation statements, and process individual actions.
  • You will interpret and explain classification criteria and prepare advisory opinions on the classification of positions.
  • You will make determinations in the proper crediting of factor levels and ultimate allocation of grade levels to positions and communicate grade distinctions to management with supporting criteria and justification
  • You will provide position management and classification support to assigned organizations under various personnel systems.
  • You will act on a variety of classification issues including Fair Labor Standards Act, Federal Wage Survey, draft classification standards, competitive level descriptions, and various classification related initiatives.
