Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting human resources tasks in the Navy, such as reviewing employee records, coordinating hires and promotions, and handling personnel paperwork to keep things running smoothly.

It's a good fit for someone with a couple of years of office experience in HR or admin roles, who pays close attention to details and enjoys helping with team-related processes.

No advanced degree is needed, but familiarity with government or military settings would be a plus.

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Domestic Def Ind Base Facilities & Major Range/Test Facilities Base in DOD.

At the GS-07 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing draft announcements and evaluating and determining the relative value of individual qualifications in relation to duties of specific positions; 2) Utilizing classification and grading principles to recommend classification of a variety of lower grade clerical and technical positions; 3) Responding to inquiries on procedures for disciplinary actions, grievances, appeals, etc; and 4) Reviewing and coordinating all personnel actions such as appointments including temporary and intermittent, change in status, transfers, separations, and promotions.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide personnel clerical services and technical support in a variety of personnel areas including responsibility for coordinating actions for processing by the Human Resource Services Center.
  • You will review and coordinate all personnel actions such as appointments, change in status, transfers, separations and promotions.
  • You will check Requests for Personnel Actions for appropriate authorization and contact persons as necessary to obtain data to complete personnel records.
  • You will maintain in-depth subject matter knowledge concerning processing and reviewing personnel actions.
  • You will apply classification standards to positions in a variety of lower level clerical and technical occupations.
  • You will serve in all facets of HR. (Labor and Employee Relations, Staffing, Classification, and Training)
