This job is for an HR Assistant who helps with classifying job positions and managing recruitment processes in a Department of Defense office.
You'll review applications, ensure documents meet rules, and enter data into HR systems to support hiring for government teams.
It's a good fit for someone with a year of office or HR experience who pays close attention to details and enjoys organizing paperwork.
This position is located within the Personnel Services Division (PSD) of the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Human Resources Directorate (HRD).
PSD delivers classification, recruitment, and talent acquisition services for OSW, WHS, and their serviced customers, supporting the initiatives and priorities of the DA&M, the Director of WHS, and the CHRO of HRD.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Reviewing applicant/employee documents for accuracy, completion and compliance to meet all federal and regulatory requirements.
Code and enter position data in various Human Resources Information systems and/or programs to include DCPDS, ASARS, USA Staffing, or similar system.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Perform a variety of recruitment and placement support duties.
Ensure the prompt processing of all personnel actions and accurate position documentation in the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) database, USA STAFFING, and ASARS.
Processes a variety of classification personnel actions and maintains the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) database.
Reconciles minor discrepancies in position builds, changes in position data elements, and error messages.
Prepare and deliver oral presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with other staff service functions and activities.
Participate with higher-graded employees in composing handouts and training materials for New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions and training programs.
Assists with administration of the Priority Placement Program (PPP) and other special hiring programs.
Exercises considerable independence in performing recruitment and placement support tasks involved in filling a variety of positions using a variety of personnel authorities and systems.
