Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing housing and living arrangements for single military personnel at a U.S.

Marine Corps base in Japan, including creating plans, tracking facility use, and coordinating maintenance projects to ensure everything runs smoothly.

A good fit would be someone with experience in housing management or facilities planning, who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a military environment overseas.

Note that medical and dental care is very limited in this location, so applicants should be prepared for that.

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-09 level or equivalent, focusing on implementing unaccompanied personnel housing and billeting policies

You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Housing and Billeting Branch (HBB) ofMARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: implementing unaccompanied personnel housing and billeting policy; and monitoring all aspects of unaccompanied personnel housing management for military installations.

To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation. Major Duties:

  • You will develop Unaccompanied Housing (UPH) billeting management plans, directives and policy.
  • You will track the operation and utilization of all UPH billeting assets and plan, schedule, and coordinate all major activities for UPH billeting projects and facilities associated with the installation.
  • You will coordinate with Public Works Branch (PWB) and Facilities Maintenance Branch (FMB) for the overview of the whole barracks reconstruction projects, barracks renovations, interior and exterior painting projects, and G-4 furnishing upgrades.
  • You will serve as a technical advisor to other installation personnel and lower grade billeting specialists on matters related to UPH billeting procedures.
  • You will promote maximum utilization of assets and uniformity of operations throughout billeting areas.
  • You will monitor internal controls; and ensures uniform application of regulations, policies, directives, and UPH billeting practices.
  • You will advise in the formulation of unaccompanied personnel housing/ billeting policies and procedures necessary for the planning and execution of quality billeting programs.
  • You will conduct site inspections to major commands and installations in review of billeting policy application and the effectiveness of the programs in those areas while ensuring that appropriate action is taken to correct inadequacies.
  • You will prepare and provide charts, graphs, and other media for depicting unaccompanied personnel housing/billeting data for use in high level meetings, conferences, and seminars.
