Full Job Description

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Blakeslee Air Force Recreation Area.This position serves as a Custodial Worker, responsible to meet the daily needs of the recreation housing guest.

Guest needs will include, but are not limited to, a full range of janitorial and housekeeping duties, providing information about both on-site and local attractions, and ensuring areas surrounding lodging are maintained and presentable.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 04/12/2026 Business Based Action, Military Spouse Preference, Outside Applicant Veteran, Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: No prior training or experience required. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Daily housekeeping duties consisting of: thoroughly cleaning kitchens, including dishes and appliances trading out and washing laundry, making beds and replacing linens as needed, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, draperies and disinfecting bathrooms, and dusting all furniture/flat surfaces.

Weekly house keeping duties to include cleaning of windows and blinds, wiping down of walls, doors and moldings, vacuuming/sweeping/mopping under beds and behind furniture, cleaning ovens, defrosting and wiping down refrigerators, wiping down inside and outside of cabinets, sweeping and cleaning of garages etc...

Routinely scheduled cleaning to include, but not limited to, laundering of bed linens, stripping and waxing of floors, cleaning AC/heating vents,. etc...

Daily inventory of furnishings, linens, towels, pots, pans, and dishes. All damages and missing items are to be reported immediately. Reporting maintenance discrepancies through the proper channels.

Responsible to monitor the repair of discrepancies and report delayed repairs to supervisor. Ensuring adequate supplies are kept on hand for guests convenience and daily housekeeping requirements.

Maintaining outdoor areas surrounding facilities to include: keeping trash and debris picked up, flower beds planted, weeded and watered, sidewalks swept and barbecue grills cleaned.

Provides information and advice to recreational guests about facilities, services and programs offered as well as on local attractions, restaurants, recreational opportunities and events.
