This AmeriCorps position involves working at History Colorado's site in Fort Garland to engage communities, especially youth, with Colorado's history through educational programs, field trips, and preservation activities.

About History Colorado/AmeriCorpsWe are committed to serving all Coloradans and offer access to our state’s history through enriching experiences at eleven museums and historic sites, with dynamic and relevant exhibits and activities.
We steward about 15 million objects, photographs, and archival resources that make up the State’s collection, and serve tens of thousands of learners of all ages through dynamic programs.
We work with school groups and youth through field trips, day camps, and traveling programs across the state of Colorado.
We’re home to a free public research center, Colorado’s Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (OAHP), and the State Historical Fund (SHF), the nation’s largest preservation program of its kind.
The History Colorado AmeriCorps Program endeavors to address three broad areas of community need across the state: equitable K-12th grade educational outcomes, quality history educational programming, and the tools to preserve and share a more inclusive Colorado history.
This initiative is part of History Colorado's strategic goals to invest in rural prosperity, strengthen education through history, and share the diverse stories of Colorado's past.
AmeriCorps Member Perks Include:
Living allowance up to $4,443.00, paid in biweekly installments of $740.50 before taxes
