Full Job Description
Operates small equipment such as forklift, brine sprayer, concrete mixer, and brush chipper in the daily routine of work requests for the multi-purpose crew. Performs manual labor in building catch basins, pouring concrete for curbs and raised medians, laying pipes for driveways and other drainage structures, repairing shoulders, clearing rights-of-way, and repairing bridges. Operates standard dump truck for hauling materials to the job site. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public, and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment; checks equipment before and after use every day, turns in pre-trip form daily. Works during inclement weather, operating dump truck, sand spreader, and brine sprayer in snow and ice removal, as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this classification. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commerical Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
The physical demands for the essential functions involves bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal scheduled work week; especially during inclement weather.
