This job is about leading a team that designs highways and roads for Pennsylvania's transportation department, handling everything from planning projects to creating detailed blueprints and budgets.
You'll guide your team through complex tasks like drainage systems and safety improvements while ensuring projects stay on time and within budget.
It's a great fit for experienced civil engineers who enjoy managing people and solving real-world infrastructure challenges.

In this role, you will oversee and implement a range of projects from their initial scope through to the development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E), drawing on the expertise of your team along with various other forms of resources.
You will employ engineering principles to guide your decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include the preparation and evaluation of PS&E packages for projects of differing complexities, which involve detailed highway plans, design calculations, construction specifics, quantity estimates, maintenance-of-traffic strategies, pavement marking layouts, erosion and sediment control measures, and cross-sectional designs.
Additionally, you will review plans and specifications, finalize engineering submissions, and conduct calculations for utility relocations, applying your knowledge of engineering standards and codes to propose safety improvements for construction initiatives.
Moreover, you will leverage your engineering expertise to perform drainage calculations for the design of new roadway drainage systems and the retrofitting of existing ones.
