THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, Position Description Number PDD2431000 and is part of the WY 153d Logistics Readiness Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard.

This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: The consideration of qualified eligible candidates will be as follows: Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 LRS.

Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard.

Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.

Area 6: Current and prior military service members separated from any branch of the military to include US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corps, Reserves, and National Guard components.

Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to make repairs or the ability to assist with repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training leading to a thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment.

Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment.

Knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of mechanical systems.

Knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls.

Basic knowledge of electronics, sufficient to identify and replace defective components, such as sensors, diodes, and circuit boards.

Ability to repair or overhaul major components such as diesel, multi-fuel or gasoline engines, turbine engines, automatic and manual transmissions, drive line assemblies, electrical and electronic systems and accessories, fuel injection systems, and emission control systems.

NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Must possess or be eligible to retrain into AFSC 2T3X1, Mission Generation Vehicular Equipment Maintenance Note: Retraining into 2T3XX career field is restricted to the grades of E-6 and below with less than 10 years of Total Federal Military Service.

Enlisted 2T3X1 ASVAB Requirements: Must possess a minimum score of "47" on the Mechanical portion of the ASVAB. Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than 333233.

Must be able to lift 60 lbs. unassisted. DRIVER'S LICENSE: Must possess a valid driver's license. Major Duties:

This position is in the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153d Logistics Readiness Squadron, Vehicle Management Flight.

Its purpose is to maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, and inspect heavy mobile equipment, various support equipment, and special purpose vehicles such as; fuel dispensing trucks, refueling equipment, crash/structural firefighting equipment and pump trucks, forklifts, materiel handling, aircraft cargo loaders, aircraft and equipment tow tractors, large runway snow removal vehicles, aircraft de-icing equipment, sweepers, bulldozers, mobile cranes, road graders, heavy construction and earth moving vehicles, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, trenchers, and tactical/armored protected vehicles.

The equipment may be commercial, or military designed with diesel, gasoline, electric, hybrid electric, or other alternative fuel power and may have multiple engines.

The work requires knowledge of how heavy-duty machinery, engines, parts, and systems work; ability to detect faulty items, determine causes of malfunction, and determine best repair methods; and skill to assemble, disassemble, repair, rebuild or modify components and a variety of interconnected systems.

Repairs include integrated electrical, electronics, air, fuel, and hydraulic systems; complex state-of-the-art electrical and electronic systems requiring specialized scan/diagnostic equipment to identify malfunctions or to determine replacement of standard and computer-controlled components.

Repairs, adjust, overhauls, performs major repairs, and maintenance on military and commercial designed heavy mobile equipment and special purpose vehicles.

Performs body repair and corrosion control, refinishes and repaints surfaces as required.

Prepares, maintains and submits applicable maintenance work orders for man-hour and data collection accounting, to include completing forms to reflect work performed or delayed and parts and maintenance required.

Participates as OJT Instructor in the vehicle maintenance area. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **
