Key Requirements

  • Ability to operate complex heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, front-end loaders, and dump trucks
  • Knowledge of safety measures and precautions for personnel and equipment
  • Skills in inspecting, maintaining, and preparing equipment for daily use
  • Capability to lead onsite projects, coordinate resources, and assess tasks for efficient completion

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Three (3) years of experience that provides specific experience in the safe and efficient operation of both light and/or heavy equipment.
Licenses or Certifications
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license equivalent to a Florida CDL A and obtain a valid Florida CDL A driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Functions as onsite lead person when directed, supervising the set-up, performance, completion and clean-up of assigned project(s).
  • Ensures all safety measures and precautions are in place and observed for assigned personnel and equipment per work order.
  • Assesses project assignments received from supervisor for the purpose of coordinating equipment, materials, time and labor required for efficient and effective completion of assigned tasks.
  • Operates heavy and complex equipment, i.e., dump trucks, bucket trucks, cranes, back hoes, excavators, bobcats, concrete/asphalt cutters, trenchers, front end loaders, turf sweepers or aerators.
  • Prepares assigned equipment for work by daily inspecting prior to and after use, and performs or coordinates regular maintenance and repair as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
