About the Position: This position is in the Sterile Processing Department, Directorate of Nursing, in Camp Humphreys clinic, in South Korea.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation under the Direct-Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the assembly of surgical equipment or instruments in the operating room and preparing equipment or supplies for specific surgical procedures.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Major Duties:

  • Prepare necessary instruments and equipment based on the surgical procedure and the surgeon’s preference card
  • Transport patients from hospital units to the Operating Room
  • Clean the operating room after surgery; removes and disposes of soiled and/or contaminated materials
  • Assist the anesthetist during induction and throughout surgical procedure
