About the Position: This position is located at Munson Army Heath Clinic, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with reception or clerical duties in a Medical Treatment Facility; assisting with maintaining or updating medical records; and conducting medical screenings.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-05. Major Duties:

  • Provide patient screening to obtain and review medical and occupational history.
  • Review all pertinent data and determine requirements for ancillary testing and program placement.
  • Verify and order all indicated laboratory studies, x-rays, immunizations, and other ancillary tests as appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support such as patient scheduling and coordination of pre-placement and routine physical exams.
  • Maintain medical records in accordance with applicable directives.
