Summary

This job involves supporting healthcare operations at a military hospital by analyzing data, preparing budgets and reports, and helping clinic leaders solve problems to ensure smooth patient care.

About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado in the Directorate of RM Clinical Support and Operations.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing assistance with preparing and monitoring annual budgets; utilizing various electronic databases and electronic healthcare systems to analyze data; identifying problems and developing or implementing solutions within the healthcare systems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Major Duties:

  • Utilize date from established databases to monitor, trend, analyze objective performance measures.
  • Prepare reports, statistical surveys, and budget requests for the clinic administration.
  • Serve as liaison and participates in resolution of problems concerning departments and clinics.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective patient care systems to achieve practice compliance with Defense Health Agency (DHA) policies and orders of practice.
  • Monitor and coordinate with clinic leadership on the effective use of clinic resources in the treatment of patients.
  • Advise clinic leadership on such civilian personnel matters as promotions, performance evaluations, awards, disciplinary actions, and employee grievances.
  • Assist clinic leaders to meet practice operations and monitor satisfaction scores based on understanding of Joint Commission standards.
