Summary

Specialized experience for the GS-07: One year of demonstrated experience writing reports to recommend improvements for healthcare program operations; performing a variety of automation functions to maintain healthcare administrative data; AND answering recurring questions to resolve administrative problems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. Major Duties:

  • Provide direct support to Health System Specialists by organizing, collecting, analyzing and presenting information related to the current and future workload
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents in draft and final form using a Word, PowerPoint or Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Use accepted workload measurement methodologies such as operational audit, work sampling or time and motion studies.
  • Coordinate plans with affected officials and personnel; resolves most problems; refers unresolved or controversial matters to higher grade employee or supervisor.
  • Conduct interviews or brief studies to obtain, verify, or clarify information relating to functions.
  • Conduct work measurement studies to ascertain existing manpower staffing levels and needs.
