The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision: Determine if containers of hazardous waste are up to safety regulation and storage requirements with inspections, gather data for state and pollution prevention reports, and act as part of the spill response team.

  • You will determine if containers of hazardous waste received are safely and properly packaged per Department of Transportation regulations.
  • You will assist the Hazardous Waste coordinator with inventory control, review of the Authorized Use List and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets.
  • You will accept recyclable property after inspection, ensuring the documentation is in order and that containers are in proper condition and properly identified.
  • You will carry out various assignments for operation of the oil pollution abatement program i.e. skimming equipment, potable pumps, pump truck (which has a gross vehicle weight of between 26,000 and 32,000 pounds), containment booms and motor boats.
  • You will use equipment in loading and transporting of materials in containers or in bulk.
