Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing grants for emergency hazard mitigation projects in West Virginia, including reviewing applications, ensuring compliance with rules, processing payments, and conducting site visits after disasters.

It supports the state's Division of Emergency Management by overseeing project progress and closing out grants.

Full Job Description

Provides oversight and grant management of Hazard Mitigation projects to include conducting kick-off meetings, review of applications. documentation, cost estimates and project scope of work. Prepares final grant award documentation, reviews financial and performance reports to ensure program compliance, reviews and processes sub-grantee's invoices and reimbursement requests for payment. Monitors the sub-grantee's project performance to maintain compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations and guidelines. Assists Hazard Mitigation Manager with development, review, interpretation and implementation of grant program plans, policies and procedures. Conducts preliminary damage assessments, site visits and initial inspection of disaster affected areas with federal, state and local officials for submission to federal grantor for review. Oversees the grant final review and closeout process.
