Aging and Disability Services (ADS) is seeking dedicated professionals to join the Washington Cares Fund (WA Cares) team—an innovative new initiative designed to support long-term care needs across our community.

WA Cares is the nation’s first universal long-term care insurance program, created to help Washington workers access the care they need when they need it.

As the Area Agency on Aging for King County, Aging and Disability Services (ADS) plays a key role in launching and implementing WA Cares in the Seattle-King County region.

We are currently hiring a WA Cares Grants and Contracts Specialists to join this newly formed team.

In this role, you will develop, manage, and monitor contracts with long-term support service providers—helping individuals remain safely in their homes and communities as they age.

This position reports to the WA Cares Supervisor and is critical to the success of this innovative statewide initiative.

Requirements

  • Develop and execute contracts–review new provider applications to determine if agencies meet qualifications. Develop and execute contracts.
  • Contract compliance and quality– complete annual risk assessment, onsite program assessment and regular desk monitoring; evaluate adherence to rules, policies, and requirements; prepare assessment reports; develop and monitor performance improvement plans as needed.

    Collaborate with other team members on monitoring activities.

  • Provide technical assistance, support, and training to agencies regarding requirements, systems access issues, and program processes; respond to and resolve issues and complaints from agencies, constituents, beneficiaries/participants, key stakeholders, and others with assistance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of one year professional experience in contract administration, budget management, planning, human services administration, AND a bachelor’s degree in a business, public administration, human services, or related field (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

OR: An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with and/or knowledge of Aging and Disability network services including Community Living Connections, Caregiver Support, Home Care Services, Home Delivered Meals, etc.
  • Experience developing, managing and/or monitoring human service contracts and/or long-term support service vendor contracts for compliance with complex State/Federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Able to learn new software, applications and data systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with business tools including Microsoft office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, TEAMS, etc.).
  • Demonstrated commitment to Race and Social Justice values.

The full salary range for this position is $39.94 - $46.43 an hour.
