Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing the supply chain for ship repairs at a naval shipyard in Hawaii, including ordering materials, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring everything arrives on time to keep production on track.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-09 level (for GS-11) or GS-11 level (for GS-12) in material management, including ordering, expediting, receiving, and inspecting supplies
  • Experience planning and coordinating material management programs to support production schedules
  • Ability to perform liaison duties with supply chain partners such as Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS), and private industry
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) to align shipyard requirements
  • Skills in evaluating and improving efficiency of supply programs for shipyard operations, particularly for CNO submarine availability
  • Experience in logistics execution for materials, tools, and consumables from planning to job completion

Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the MATERIAL SOURCING & EXECUTION SUPPORT DIVISION - CODE 520 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Salary Ranges: GS-11: $77,964 - $101,359 GS-12: $93,445 - $121,482 GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and coordinating a material management program (e.g.

ordering, expediting, receiving and inspecting supplies) and performing additional liaison duties with the supply chain including Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) and private industry to support shipyard operations.

  • You will be responsible to ensure all material required for the repair and alteration of ships during availability are ordered, expedited, received, and inspected to support production schedules.
  • You will be supporting the execution of the logistics of material, tools and consumables handling from job planning to job execution and may be extended to other related work.
  • You will evaluate the efficiency of the shipyard material management and supply programs supporting the shipyard workload for CNO submarine availability which covers a wide span of supply and acquisition processes and procedures.
  • You will perform liaison with the supply chain including Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Naval Supply Systems command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) and private industry for ensuring materials are available.
  • You will ensure that the shipyards non-standard requirements align with DLA and NAVSUP WSS acquisition requirements, meeting Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) requirements.
  • You will develop and execute the planning and coordination of complex material management plans for assigned projects.
