No military membership is needed, but you must be able to handle demanding physical tasks in all weather.

Key Requirements

  • Experience performing general maintenance duties on buildings, grounds, or equipment
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing, and working in extreme weather
  • Skills to operate hand tools, electrical, mechanical, and automotive equipment
  • Reliability, initiative, and self-starter attitude with willingness to learn new skills
  • Herbicide certification or ability to obtain it within the first six months
  • Availability for part-time work up to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with possible on-call and emergency response including weekends

We are seeking a General Maintenance Worker II to perform general maintenance on buildings and/or grounds and maintain and repair specialized equipment. This is a civilian, temporary, part-time, non-benefited position. You will not exceed 30 hours per week but you can work any day Monday through Friday.

Principal Duties
As a General Maintenance Worker, you will perform some or all of the following:

repair and/or perform preventative maintenance on equipment, or machinery, etc.paint, finish and refinish wood, metal, and other materials.use and operate a variety of hand tools and electrical, mechanical, and automotive equipment.mow, rake, water and fertilize lawn; plant, transplant, water, fertilize, and trim flowers and shrubs; control weeds; maintain and clean grounds, parking areas, etc.; remove ice and snow, etc.maintain roadways including vegetation, weed control, drainage, sign and structure maintenance, litter pick-up, repair fences and guardrails, yard and driveway cleaning, etc.detect and eliminate or minimizes safety hazards.build, fabricate, or repair structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints, and/or working drawings.troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance problems and make appropriate adjustments.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for this position:is reliable, takes initiative, and is a self-starter.has the aptitude and is willing to learn new skills.is Herbicide certified or can be within the first six months of hire?has experience performing general maintenance duties.has the physical ability to perform general maintenance duties.has the skills and ability to operate tools and general maintenance equipment.Why You Should Join Our TeamThis is an exciting opportunity for you to join our exceptional team and excellent working environment.

This is a civilian position at Camp Williams.Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g.

working at great heights, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, etc.The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as climbing, lifting heavy objects 100 pounds, crouching, or crawling in restricted areas.Must be able to work in all kinds of weather elements.This job may require you to be on-call and to respond to emergencies any time during the day and on weekends.
