The South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy (Academy), Facilities Management Unit, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to supervise and assist inmate personnel in maintenance, groundskeeping, and custodial functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and assist inmate staff in general maintenance and custodial duties.
Conduct weekly safety meetings and training for assigned inmate staff.
Perform accurate inmate staff counts throughout the day.
Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs for existing and newly acquired equipment.
Operate a van to transport inmate staff as needed; maintain accurate vehicle logs.
Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure assigned vehicles are safe and operable.
Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Perform occasional weekend duties as operational needs require.
Minimum requirements:
High school diploma
One year of job-related experience
