Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading inmate teams to build and renovate prison facilities, including tasks like reading blueprints, pouring concrete, and erecting metal structures.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on construction experience who is organized, comfortable supervising others in a secure environment, and able to handle planning and estimating costs.
It's ideal for a reliable tradesperson ready to work in a correctional setting after completing required training.
Responsible for construction and renovation of existing and new SCDC facilities.
Must have an extensive working knowledge of principles and techniques of building codes and reading blueprints.
Responsible for supervision of an inmate work crew.
Knowledge of metal building erection and knowledge of forming and pouring of concrete.
Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license.
Must have a CDL license or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
Must have organizational skills.
Must be able to do cost estimates and material take-offs.
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and five (5) years of experience in all phases of construction field with knowledge of South Carolina Procurement Regulations.
