Job Description

Summary

This role involves overseeing engineering aspects of military weapon systems maintenance in a government logistics command, including planning workloads, monitoring production processes, and evaluating facility needs.

A good fit would be an experienced engineer with a background in defense or industrial maintenance who enjoys analyzing production capabilities and solving complex facility challenges.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the WEAPON SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT CENTER of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience working within the Organic Industrial Base (OIB); provided technical direction and oversight of Depot Level Maintenance programs of a variety of military weapons systems.

  • You will review, analyze, develop and monitor requirement and management plans for workload assignments.
  • You will monitor construction, manufacturing and maintenance processes and procedures to assure compliance with appropriate provisions and standards.
  • You will evaluate production capabilities of different commercial contractors and Government facilities.
  • You will determine facilities modifications and or new facilities required to accomplish specific production and recommend unique or controversial resolutions to problems in developing production plans.
  • You will develop data models that evaluate and or predict the production process.
  • You will provide formal written reports of findings on production capacity to program officials.
  • You will conduct economic analyses to determine feasibility of renovations versus new construction requirements.
