Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading engineering projects for support equipment used in naval aviation, from planning and budgeting to managing production and ongoing maintenance.

It requires coordinating with various teams to turn operational needs into working systems while ensuring projects stay on time and within budget.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the SUPPORT EQUIPMENT DEPARTMENT, PEO (A) PSE DIVISION of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:1) Planning, budgeting and managing systems engineering activities to include identification, development, acquisition, production, delivery, and sustainment of all required Support Equipment (SE), 2) Leading mechanical, electrical, and avionics SE engineering projects across the life cycle, 3) Coordinating and interfacing with appropriate Program Offices, NAVAIR and NAWCAD Departments, system commands, fleet representatives, and contractors to translate operational needs into configured systems, 4) Making major program recommendations concerning program direction, resources, policies, and schedules, and 5) Managing all project schedules, budgets, and acquisitions to ensure projects are executed in accordance with SE and Naval aviation policies; and meet program goals for cost, schedule, and performance.

  • You will lead all life cycle systems engineering efforts to translate operational needs into configured SE end items.
  • You will coordinate requirements, identify/manage risks, develop solutions, and resolve complex issues.
  • You will provide authoritative input on engineering issues, create/monitor project plans, establish priorities, and recommend adjustments to meet program goals for cost, schedule, and performance.
  • You will interpret and adapt generalized engineering documentation to specific requirements, maintain currency with emerging technologies, and create new technology applications for program/project improvement.
