Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an engineer for the U.S.

Navy in Washington state, where you'll oversee ship repair projects, solve technical problems, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.

You'll act as the main expert for technical issues on these projects and coordinate with teams to keep everything on track.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the INDUSTRY MANAGEMENT & FLEET TECH DIVISION, ENGINEERING & PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.

In addition to the basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer planning and coordinating the direction and progress of engineering projects to include devising solutions and actions to resolve technical issues, solving complex ship repair deficiencies, and ensuring project work meets technical standards and compliance.

  • You will review the Lead Maintenance Activity (LMA) work specifications ensuring technical compliance to existing NAVSEA and higher-level requirements.
  • You will act as the projects technical authority point of contact. Assigned to resolve all technical issues, adjudicate non-conformances, departures from specification, waivers and deviations, and provides formal technical responses.
  • You will be responsible for the technical oversight of work and testing in execution from a wide variety of executing activities.
  • You will receive and review OQE for completed work from all maintenance activities and evaluate results for completeness and accuracy.
  • You will act as the project team authority for work item and project certification, you will report to the Deputy Chief Engineer (Delegated Technical Warrant Holder) all key event and milestone certification status.
  • You will be required to complete and maintain course requirements for Docking Observer certification.
