Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900
Typical requirements: Executive-level leadership experience. Senior executive qualifications required.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This role involves leading and supporting foster care teams by providing hands-on training, mentoring new staff as they move from classroom learning to real-world work, and handling a mix of supervisory tasks like assigning cases and reviewing progress.
It also includes managing some foster care cases with a focus on keeping children connected to their cultural roots and communities.

Job Title: Foster Care Lead (SSS4) non-permanent
Location: Three positions available-
Spokane/Yakima, WA (Region 1&2)
Seattle/Everett, WA (Region 3&4) The salary listed does not include the additional 5% premium granted to all King County employees.
Tacoma/Tumwater (Region 5&6)
Closes: February 12th, 2026
Salary: $6107 - $8210 Monthly.
This position carries a number of cases as determined by the supervisor and is responsible for meeting all casework management directives as required by law, policy and other mandates. This position may be assigned to a small office or within a unit that includes more than one program area.
What we're looking for (Required Qualifications):
A Master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or Master’s degree which includes 30 semester or 45 quarter credits in a Social Services discipline AND two (2) years of paid social service experience* in planning, administering, developing, or delivery of public child welfare, social, health, or chemical dependency treatment programs.
A two-year Master's degree in one of the above fields that included a practicum may be substituted for one year of paid social service experience.
