This job involves acting as the main contact for customers in a defense logistics setting, helping them place orders, resolve urgent issues, and ensure timely delivery of supplies to support military and humanitarian operations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Utilizes EBS automated applications related to Customer Order Fulfillment, Planning, and Procurement, applying and adapting analytical and evaluative methods to perform customer support studies and improve operations.

Applies major program issues, operations, and processes across functional areas to address customer concerns, plan and conduct studies, and recommend improvements to work operations and customer satisfaction.

Uses STORES and STORES Admin to assist customers with ordering and receipt of subsistence requirements, generate reports, and create MILSTRIPs, including associating ordering points and assigning authorized buyers.

Applies web-based logistics systems and business/marketing plans, demand forecasting, and communication techniques to support supply operations and coordinate with stakeholders.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Serves as primary customer-facing point of contact, resolving emergency requests, maintaining customer data, and assisting with timely procurement of material requirements.
  • Initiates communications with customers and DLA Troop Support to address current and future requirements and ensure timely processing of orders and customer access to information.
  • Ensures timely processing of customer orders and access to product, unit, and order information in support of customer relationship management functions.
  • Serves as direct link between the customer forward activity and Supply Centers for information and revisions on production schedules and DLA requirements.
  • Actively seeks information from customers for planning and strategic sourcing of future programs, exercising requirements and operational support functions.
  • Supports warfighter and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief (HA/DR) operations requiring knowledge of ship and personnel movements.
  • Incorporates functions mapped in the Order Fulfillment and Planning process areas, supporting execution of logistics operations and customer requirements.
