The Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Chief Nurse Executive, Nurse Manager I, Forensic Unit Director, and other supervisory personnel.
This position is essential for maintaining a consistent standard of care and oversight within the nursing team.
Acting as a vital resource for nursing staff, nursing administration, interdisciplinary team members, and patient support services, the Supervisor is present daily to oversee all aspects of nursing operations.
This hands-on approach allows for effective patient advocacy, ensuring that individuals receive appropriate and active treatment.
The Supervisor bears significant responsibility for direct clinical supervision and leadership, which encompasses planning, directing, controlling, and evaluating patient care across various settings.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor is dedicated to fostering a safe and therapeutic environment for both patients and staff.
This includes active participation in staff development initiatives, monitoring attendance, and providing ongoing orientation and training for both professional and non-professional nursing personnel.
The Supervisor applies their expertise by adhering to hospital and nursing policies and procedures while engaging in Nursing Performance Improvement and Hospital Performance Improvement activities.
They also contribute to nursing and facility committees, utilizing therapeutic communication to maintain effective daily interactions with patients and staff alike.
Furthermore, the Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, conducting employee evaluations, and performing competency assessments, all while fulfilling additional duties as assigned.
