Summary
This job involves coordinating care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are admitted through the court system, managing their service plans, representing the agency in hearings, and working with other state organizations to ensure they get the right support.

Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, with at least five years of experience in human services (preferred: Master's and ten years as a social worker or case manager serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities)
- Knowledge of OIDD services, Medicaid options for disabilities, and residential habilitation providers
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system and ability to testify in court
- Skills in case management, including completing assessments, developing Plans of Service, and monitoring service effectiveness
- Ability to interpret laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to judicial admissions
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), critical thinking, attention to detail, and time management
- Ability to build effective working relationships and coordinate with state agencies

This position is responsible for:
- Managing judicial admission case load, including the completion and development of Plans of Service, as assigned.
- Representing OIDD in various court hearings related to judicial admissions and testifies under oath on behalf of OIDD.
- Ensuring proper implementation of the Plan of Service for individuals who have been judicially admitted, including compliance with the terms of the judicial admission order.
- Overseeing case management services and recommended referrals as well as monitoring services for effectiveness.
- Coordinating with other State agencies for provision of services for OIDD eligible individuals, as assigned to include, but not limited to, Inter-Agency staffings as requested.
- Reviewing program objectives, assessing programs, and recommending policy, procedure, and rule changes as needed.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
BHDD-OIDD is a part of the state's behavioral health and developmental disabilities agency, providing services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health conditions and substance use disorders through a wholistic, streamlined and coordinated approach. OIDD assists in the planning, developing, coordinating, and funding services for South Carolinians with the severe, lifelong disabilities of intellectual disability and related disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury and similar disability.
