Summary

This job involves leading computer forensic efforts for U.S.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement, where you'll guide teams in seizing and analyzing digital devices to gather evidence for criminal investigations.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Assisting in investigations requiring computer forensic analysis, including imaging, processing digital media, and locating and identifying evidence; Responding to questions and contributing computer forensic knowledge to coach management, stakeholders, and customers on concepts, materials, and tasks; AND Proactively and independently using a variety of methods to apply investigative tactics, techniques, and processes to identify conditions.

Major Duties:

  • As a Computer Forensic Analyst, you will perform the following duties: The incumbent of this position will serve as a Computer Forensic Program Manager responsible for providing guidance to field forensic analyst personnel and ICE/HSI field management as it relates to seizure of computers and/or electronic media for the purpose of evidence gathering; Advises top agency managers on recent trends in computer and digital analysis of evidence related to criminal investigations; Coordinates, analyzes, researches and provides technical support resources for the continued development of high-tech large and complex forensic examination, inspection, surveillance and investigative systems and equipment pertaining to research, development, testing and evaluation; AND Determines effectiveness of nation-wide policies, standards, and procedures and furnishes field management with advice and assistance on operational problems pertaining to complex computer and digital analysis of evidence.
