Summary

About the Position: This position is located on Fort Shafter, Hawaii, which is near the Historical Palm Circle on the island of Oahu.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning global force operations to execute assigned mission, contingency plans and operations; conducting analysis on civilian and military manpower requirements; and briefing senior management on force management actions and/or operations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as Deputy Chief, Force Management Branch, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, HQ 8th TSC.
  • Responsible for the planning, operating and coordinating force structure, doctrine and training for a forward deployed field Army to deter war in the Pacific region.
  • Support the unified command (INDOPACOM) operation plans.
  • Direct and manage the continuing operation of various force management programs within 8th TSC.
  • Manage the new equipment fielding program for all 8th TSC organizations.
