Employee must bend and stoop in loading trays on delivery carts, frequently lifts over 45 pounds.

Working Conditions: Work is performed predominantly in noisy kitchen and dining room areas; involves continuous standing and walking, mainly on concrete floors.

Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used; exposed to dirt, grease and water in cleaning tasks.

Incumbent is subject to extremes of temperature in bringing supplies from walk-in refrigerators.

There is danger of slipping on wet floors which are wet from daily mopping or where food or beverage has been dropped. Major Duties:

  • Perform vegetable preparation and patient tray service functions including assembling and dispensing of condiments, vegetables, desserts, beverages, fruits, meats for the dining room and patient tray service.
  • Operate scales and measuring devices, potato peeler, food chopper, vertical meat cutter, mixer, and meat tenderizers.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks such as set up, assemble and load patient trays, transport meals to inpatients; collect carts after meal, break down trays, load and unload dishwasher.
  • Ensure proper refrigeration of food and storage of perishable food items are maintained.
  • Assemble and dispense food items on patient trays and working in all patient-serving areas.
