This job involves hands-on tasks in a youth programs kitchen at a military base, such as setting up serving lines, preparing simple foods, cleaning equipment, and maintaining the dining area.
It's a flexible, on-call role with no guaranteed hours but up to 40 per week as needed.
It's ideal for entry-level workers who are physically fit, reliable, and enjoy team-based service environments, with no prior experience required.
This position will be assigned to the JBSA Randolph Youth Programs. This is a flex category position guaranteed 00 hours per week, may work up to 40 hours per week. Scheduled as needed.
Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighting up to 20 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Ability to read and understand written materials. 2. Must be able to follow simple oral instructions. 3.
Knowledge of sanitation standards for food preparation areas, handling food, and cleaning equipment. 4. Ability to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines.

Major Duties:
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service areas.
Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments and cold menu items (e.g., salad, dessert, bread and cold beverages) on a serving line and removes dishes and trays from tables.
Operates, breaks down and cleans all electrical equipment for food preparation. Cleans kitchen equipment (e.g., worktables, sinks and refrigerators).
Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses and silverware in dish washing area. Loads and operates dishwashers, stores clean dishes, glasses and silverware.
Washes tables and counters, vacuums and shampoos carpets. Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, cleans windows, washes walls, and cleans and sanitizes trashcans.
Sorts, washes, peels and cuts fresh fruits and vegetables. Performs other related duties as assigned to include, but not limited to, transporting meals to other sites.
