Full Job Description

The Utah State Hospital is seeking full time employees to prepare and serve meals to both patients and employees at the beautiful Utah State Hospital campus. Our Food Service Workers are a fun, energetic team who diligently work to provide nutritious meals to 300 patients and their guests, as well as over 800 State employees, every day. We are looking for reliable, energetic, career-minded individuals who will be positive addition to our team!


The Food Service Worker I TL is an entry-level position that pays $16.08 per hour, with no experience required. We will be happy to train the right person, as well as provide the required food handlers class. This is a great way to start your career in Food Services! In this role you will help prepare, and serve meals, maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas and ensure food safety standards are met. If you have passion for food services and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment we encourage you to apply. The schedule for this position after training is complete will be Sunday 10:00am-6:30pm, Monday-Tuesday OFF, Wednesday-Saturday 10:00am-6:30pm.

• Is reliable, with great references and verifiable work history.
• Enjoys working with others.
• Has excellent communication skills.
• Is receptive to training.
• Will be able to cheerfully adapt to unforeseen changes, such as staffing needs and menu adaptations.

• Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
• Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
