The Department of Human Services is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Food Service Worker to join our dedicated dietary services team at Ebensburg Center.

In this role, you will help prepare and serve appealing, nutritious meals while supporting departmental goals to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming dining environment for consumers.

Requirements

In this position, you will prepare and serve food while ensuring that all cleaning tasks are completed in accordance with hospital and departmental policies as well as health and sanitation regulations.

Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and work surfaces.

In addition, you will assemble meal trays, measure and serve food portions, and transport trays and carts. You will also operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with rotating days off and a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualification (not required):

  • Food production or food service experience in an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
