In this position, you will supervise food service operations while providing vocational training to inmates.
Training instruction will include food preparation, production, service, and baking techniques.
Responsibilities include teaching the safe and sanitary use of kitchen tools and equipment, including proper procedures for cleaning, maintenance, and storage.
You will guide inmates in preparing meals according to established recipes, ensuring food is prepared and served on schedule.
Additionally duties include inspecting food service areas, equipment, and food products to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
You will also review census counts and menus to adjust recipes as necessary and manage leftover food effectively by repurposing it into usable products to help minimize waste.
