Full Job Description
This is a non-merit, internship position with the Department of Inspections, Appeals & Licensing.Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.The Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL) Food Safety Bureau (FSB) is seeking Administrative Interns. These positions will serve as a Food Safety Bureau Summer Intern in the Food Unit which regulates food establishments, food processing plants, hotels,and home food processing establishments. The Summer Food Bureau Interns will perform the following essential support duties:
• Application review and processing
• Provide assistance with customer inquiries
• Field support during Temporary Events, Farmer's Market, and facility visits
• Suggest process improvement ideas to management
• Participate in industry outreach activities
• Assist with FSB website updates and edits
• Special projects with licensing and manufactured food team.
The schedule of this summer internship is 40 hours per week, daytime hours Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work. The position is based at 6200 Park, Suite 100, Des Moines, Iowa.

Qualifications
