Full Job Description

It is the applicant's responsibility to read all sections and associated links in this announcement. Prepares and serves food items, handles cash and records, and maintains a clean work area.

Works independently, follows safety and food handling procedures, and provides good customer service. Requires standing, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working safely in food service areas.

GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT.

Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have one year of post-high school experience in the hospitality industry or one year of post-high school education. Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.

Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.

All Qualified applicants will be rated against the highly qualifying criteria by a rating panel for evaluation of the quality and extent of your total accomplishments, experience and education.

Those applicants determined to be highly qualified will be referred to the hiring official for consideration. The highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and reference checks.

All answers to the Highly Qualifying Criteria must be demonstrated in your resume to get credit. Major Duties:

DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all of the following duties on a recurring basis:Prepares and serves food items which include, but are not limited to, hot dogs, nachos, chips, candy, lemonade drinks, etc.

Keeps work area clean and orderly. Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary. Maintains related cash records.

Performs other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Skill and Knowledge: Able to work alone. Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Know simple food handling techniques.

Able to work safely. Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time. Able to use simple arithmetic.

RESPONSIBILITY: Receives verbal and written assignments. Is expected to work as scheduled and to know what steps are needed to complete the work. Accomplishes work on own initiative.

Work is evaluated for accuracy, promptness and good customer relations. PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40.

Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat.

Care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas.
