This position is located at Fort Bliss DFMWR.

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.

Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities.

The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Highly Desirable: Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and work experience as identified above.

Possession of a nationally identified Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.

The above qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and/or supporting documents.

A copy of all documents must be submitted at the time of application. Major Duties:

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the fitness facility, including outdoor basketball courts, restrooms, and field and track areas. Responsibilities entail creating staff schedules, establishing performance goals, ensure employees meet standards.
  • Budget planning and adjust staffing levels as needed. Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring all items are accounted for. Monitor the condition of fitness equipment, coordinating necessary repairs or replacements
  • Oversee daily cash register and safe operations, ensuring adherence to internal controls and financial protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Public Works (DPW) and contractors to ensure work orders are completed in accordance with Army fitness facility standards. Ensure the facility is maintained to high cleanliness standards.
  • Promote sports programs through local media and marketing efforts. Assist with various sports programs and supporting MWR events and initiatives.
