In addition to public service, you’ll assist with invoice tracking, in-season fishery reporting, reviewing video weir files, entering salmon escapement data, and directing questions to other staff when needed.
In the field, you will focus on the Anchor River Chinook salmon marine survival project, assisting with capturing Chinook salmon smolt by beach seine and rotary screw trap, identifying juvenile salmon species, and PIT tagging Chinook salmon smolt.
Additional opportunities to get hands on experience supporting other field projects can be expected, including razor clam abundance and hand-dig surveys, port sampling, salmon escapement monitoring, stocking salmon smolt, and Chinook broodstock collection.
